Brazilian singer Darlin Morais has died aged 28 days after being bitten on the face by a spider, his relatives said.
Jhullyenny Lisboa, the star’s husband, said he died this Monday, November 6, at the General Hospital of Palma (Brazil), a week after he was bitten by a spider, reports local portal G1.
Darlene Morais suffered a spider bite
The interpreter’s partner told the aforementioned media that, on October 31, the weaver bit him on the cheek while he was at his home in the municipality of Miranorte.
“She felt weakness in her body and her face started to darken that same day,” Jhullyenny Lisboa explained about the symptoms Darlyn Morais later experienced.
Due to his allergic reaction, he went to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and discharged on Friday, November 3.
However, as his condition did not improve, he was admitted to Palma General Hospital on Sunday 5 November. He finally died on Monday morning.
The health minister confirmed the death and also announced that the exact cause of death is still under investigation.
The musician’s 18-year-old stepdaughter Jhullyanny also suffered a spider bite and is currently in hospital in a stable condition, her mother revealed.
Darlene Morais is fired by his family and fans
Darlyn Morais’ wake and funeral was held on Tuesday, November 7th, attended by loved ones and fans.
During the vigil his father, Juá, and his brother, Juninho, played several forró songs, a musical genre represented by the star that is popular in the region combining accordion, zabumba and metal triangle.
The funeral took place around 6:00 p.m. in front of dozens of attendees, among whom some even released white balloons into the sky as a tribute.
A message was posted on the artist’s Instagram account in which his family members thanked “everyone (for) the messages of love and support during these times of great pain.”
For her part, Jhullyenny Lisboa posted images and videos of what happened in those moments on her stories on the digital platform.
Who Was Darlene Morais?
According to the British newspaper, Darlene Morais plunged into the world of music at the age of 15. Their small group included Juninho and a friend, Eduardo Fonseca.
The band performed regularly in the Brazilian state of Tocantins, but were also booked to perform in Goiás, Maranhão and Para.
His cousin, Wesleya Silva, told G1: “He was always very happy and smiling at everyone around him. (He was) the owner of a giant heart, always helping people.”
Besides Jhullyenny, Darlyn has a child, just 1 year old, and a little girl, 6, whose name is Karolyna.
