The first day of Paris Fashion Week – as it turned out, the Chaumet dinner was only a warm-up – began with the show of Sciaparelli’s autumn-winter 22/23 couture collection. Designers continue to select locations for their shows with hidden meanings, and creative director of the house Daniel Roseberry decided to hold a show at the Museum of Decorative Arts, where the Shocking Chic exhibition dedicated to Elsa Schiaparelli’s surreal fashion will open the other day.
Actually, on the catwalk we saw a complete homage to Elsa’s early work. The designer rethought the archival images of the brand, breathing modernity into them, and added bright details: fresh flowers, freshwater pearls, feathers. Not without signature gold and anatomical forms (however, the latter were much less than in previous collections based on this design technique), as well as nudity – a significant part of the models took to the podium with partially or completely bare breasts.
On the catwalk, among others, were seen 49-year-old Czech model Eva Herzigova and 47-year-old American fashion model Carolyn Murphy. But there were an order of magnitude more stars in the hall: the show was visited by a rare bird at social events Emma Watson, Hunter Schafer, Rita Ora, Chiara and Valentina Ferragni, Derek Blasberg, Lily Aldridge, Olivier Rousteing, Rossi de Palma, as well as Renata Litvinova, who has been living in Paris for some time.
