Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana had a big day yesterday – Dolce&Gabbana celebrated the tenth anniversary of their high fashion line Alta Moda. For the sake of this, the designers returned to the island of Sicily, where the first show of the line took place.
In Piazza del Duomo, the scene of the Easter Sunday procession from the opera Rural Honor by Pietro Mascagni was recreated. The models, among which were the star heirs Virgo Kassel and Leni Klum, demonstrated dresses reminiscent of ancient statues. There were lace, and corsets, and voluminous silhouettes, and multi-colored baroque prints.
Perhaps, only the guest list, which is more like the guest list of the Oscars or Grammy awards, could argue with what is happening on the podium. The designers called in the heavy artillery of Hollywood in the form of Mariah Carey, Helen Mirren, Ciara, who appeared on the show with her whole family – football player husband Russell Wilson and three children, Monica Bellucci, Sharon Stone, Drew Barrymore. The show was also attended by Christian Bale with his family, Heidi Klum, Emma Roberts, Lupita Nyong’o, Kris Jenner and Corey Gamble, the widow and daughter of Kobe Bryant and others.
