A live concert featuring 100 musicians will perform some of cinema’s most recognizable soundtracks at the Teatro Manuel Ascencio Segura in central Lima on Sunday, August 23.
The show, called “Música de película,” is directed by maestro Renzo Dalí and produced by DEA Promotora. It combines a chamber orchestra, electric guitar, drums, a choral ensemble, and ethnic percussion to perform themes from films, television series, and animated productions spanning multiple generations. Tickets are on sale through Teleticket.
The repertoire covers Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Mission Impossible, The Godfather, Rocky, Titanic, Dirty Dancing, Chariots of Fire, Shrek, The Pink Panther, Inspector Gadget, Rugrats, and Thundercats, among others. The production features no screens, only live performance.
Dalí, who trained at the Universidad Nacional de Música del Perú and holds a degree from the London College of Music in England, said he wants audiences not just to hear the music but to feel it. He said he wants them to close their eyes and return to scenes from Titanic, stand up during Rocky, and tremble during Star Wars, calling it a collective and unrepeatable experience.
