Valli announced on Friday that recent reports suggesting he had stepped away from music were entirely false. His representative, Victoria Varela, confirmed his stance to Variety, stating, "He is not retired. This is false."
The legendary entertainer doubled down on the message from his representative with a statement of his own, posted directly to his 51,000 followers on Instagram. "In spite of what you might have heard, I am not retired. - Frankie," Valli published on the social media platform.
Social Media Post Sparked Retirement Claims
The clarification follows confusion earlier this week when fans misconstrued a Facebook post shared by Valli's brother, 77-year-old Bobby Valli. The message led many supporters to believe the veteran performer was stepping down permanently from the stage.
In his Facebook post, Bobby Valli expressed hope for his brother's well-being as he recovers. "We are all hoping for a speedy recovery and that he can continue to tour and perform his music around the world," he wrote in part.
Bobby Valli also reflected on his brother's long career and the support of their family. "He has reached a place in his life where if needed, his family is there to love, cherish, and to be there for him," he added.
Supporters flocked to the comment section of the post to leave heartfelt messages peppered with retirement speculation, despite Bobby Valli making no mention of retirement in his update. One fan commented, "Frankie [has] given so much joy in his life, he well deserves a great retirement."
Another user urged the 92-year-old singer to step back from public life, writing, "Time for him to sit back and relax. 92... heck, I retired at 56!" Other commentators simply encouraged Valli to enjoy his retirement.

The online speculation comes three months after Valli cancelled his remaining 2026 concert dates to focus on his health. The Four Seasons frontman announced his decision to step away from his Last Encores farewell tour in a statement posted to Instagram, assuring fans that he planned to resume the tour at another point in time.
At the time of the announcement, Varela told Variety that the music icon chose to cancel the remaining shows rather than postponing them so that ticket holders could recoup their money immediately. "Promoters want to prolong things and not give people their money back, but he needs to not keep rescheduling these shows," Varela said.
Varela added that Valli wanted to address his health directly without putting fans through endless rescheduling delays. "He realized he needed to take a break and get his health in order, and that is the true issue - he wants to get better without prolonging, through the rescheduling process, the pain of people who've bought these tickets," she explained.

Concerns surrounding Valli's well-being first intensified two years ago after videos of the singer looking frail and tired on stage went viral. During a live performance with his band, observers noted that he appeared unstable on his feet and stumbled over lyrics, prompting some fans to question whether he was lip-syncing.
