American author George R. R. Martin has left fans concerned after revealing health struggles and writing delays in his first blog post in six months.
The 77-year-old writer, who created the fantasy saga behind Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, described his past year as turbulent. He confessed that a mix of positive and negative extremes has slowed his writing process.

In the blog post titled Better Late Than Never, Martin wrote that so much had happened recently that it felt overwhelming. He noted that while exciting dreams had come true, he also experienced nightmares, lost friends, and battled sadness and depression.
Martin added that he turned 77 last September and remarked that getting older was not fun at all. He warned that the worst might still be to come, but noted that such struggles are simply part of life, something his readers should already recognize from his stories.
