Georgia Toffolo left her Instagram followers baffled after admitting she is hoping her multi-millionaire husband James Watt won't notice she never paid him back for clothes she ordered on his card.
The former Made in Chelsea star, 31, posted on Instagram on Thursday night as she got ready for an evening out with Watt, 44, the former chief executive of BrewDog.
She showed off her outfit for the night, a Khaite dress and autumn boots bought from Net-a-Porter, while Watt filmed her guessing where her bag was from. It turned out to be Vinted.
As Toffolo told her followers where the look had come from, she suddenly stopped herself. "I was going to say something then but I'm not going to say it... because it will remind you...!" she said.
Speaking to the camera alone later in the clip, she whispered the confession she had been holding back. "What I didn't want to say is that James actually bought me this dress and shoes and I was meant to pay him back but he forgot," she said. "So I didn't want to mention it. But that's the truth. I'm screwed if he does."
Fans react to the confession
Watt is estimated to be worth £400million and founded BrewDog, the craft beer company, before stepping down as chief executive. Toffolo, who found fame on Made in Chelsea, is thought to be worth around £3million in her own right. The pair married in March last year.
Followers were quick to weigh in on the confession. One wrote: "PAY HIM BACK... I'm sorry I never comment on celebrities posts but girl he's a multi millionaire and more than that he's your HUSBAND!!!" Another simply commented: "Don't pay him back."
Fertility journey update
The Instagram post came a month after Toffolo spoke openly about her "struggle" to conceive after almost a year of trying with Watt. She said she had thought she would already be pregnant by now, and admitted the wait had been difficult because she considers herself an "overachiever" who is "so healthy".
"I found the first five months so much harder trying to conceive because I was like, 'oh my god, like I'm not pregnant. It's going on and on,'" she said. "But now I'm actually quite used to it, which makes things easier. I know that's quite depressing to say."
She said she had made an effort to enjoy the current phase of her life, describing the emotional cycle of taking a test each month. "I am sad, I am a little bit sad. But then after a couple of hours I say to James I'm like, 'I'm alright now are you?' and he's like 'yeah, it'll happen'," she said.
Toffolo added that she felt strongly she would eventually get pregnant. "I think there's a really special baby coming. I feel it," she said, adding that friends who had also struggled to conceive had told her it could simply take time. She said she did not want to "overmedicalise" the process, joking, "are you guys excited for me to come on in here in a week and say I'm having a meltdown."
Earlier admission in April
In April, Toffolo had emotionally revealed that she and Watt had been trying for a baby for five months without success. "My gut has been telling me to share this, but my head has been saying no," she said in a clip posted at the time. "It hasn't happened on month one, month two, three, four, five. According to all the amazing doctors, that is completely normal."
She described the experience of the two-week wait before a pregnancy test as "quite lonely", and said she had initially taken tests alone until Watt told her to stop doing so by herself. "That shift for me has been so amazing, I can actually cry at the relief," she said. "We are not struggling with infertility, we are two incredibly fortunate people. We are just at that weird in-between stage."
She was flooded with supportive messages from fans thanking her for speaking honestly about the experience.
