Georgia Toffolo Opens Up On Trying For Baby For A Year

Former Made In Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo has revealed her struggle to fall pregnant after nearly a year of trying with husband James Watt.

The 31-year-old television personality tied the knot with her 44-year-old millionaire husband in March last year and has been candid with fans about their fertility journey so far.

In a new update, Toffolo revealed that she and Watt remain hopeful that she will fall pregnant soon. She admitted that she thought she would have been pregnant by now, sharing that it is hard to process because she considers herself an overachiever and lives a healthy lifestyle.

Georgia Toffolo has revealed her 'struggle' to deal with not falling pregnant after a year of trying.

"I found the first five months so much harder trying to conceive because I was like, 'oh my god, like I'm not pregnant. It's going on and on,'" she said. She added that she has since grown used to the situation, which makes things easier, while acknowledging that saying so sounds depressing.

Expectations and health checks

Toffolo explained that she has made a conscious effort to enjoy the current phase of her life. She shared that while she feels sad for a few hours every month when taking a pregnancy test, she quickly recovers after speaking with her husband.

"I am sad, I am a little bit sad. But then after a couple of hours I say to James I'm like, 'I'm alright now are you?' and he's like 'yeah, it'll happen,'" she said.

Toffolo noted that she was currently in a two-week wait for results while filming her update. "I keep saying to myself and other friends that are trying, I feel so deeply and this is me on a really good day, and just for context in the two weeks wait right now, so you know, I think that proves if you've ever tried to have a baby, you know that me having this sunny disposition which is a really good change by the way I've really struggled," she said.

She expressed confidence that she will eventually conceive. "I feel really strongly that I'm going to get pregnant and we're going to have a baby and it's going to be really special and this has been a major lesson in patients, and not trying to control the outcome of everything," she said, continuing, "I'm such an overachieve, whatever I do, I'm like, right I'm going to be the best, but you can't do that with this."

Toffolo added: "I think there's a really special baby coming. I feel it. I know how that sounds mad other people be like you've been trying for nearly a year love its not happening. I weirdly just think we've got to wait and there will be some amazing reason why it hasn't happened as quickly as I would have liked."

In April, Georgia emotionally revealed she and James had been trying for a baby for five months ¿ but that it 'hasn't happened yet'

Speaking to friends helped her realize that conceiving simply takes time. "I'm so healthy, there's like a few remaining check that I'm going to have once we've been trying for a year but I just don't want to overmedicalise it because everything that I've done so, looks great and what an amazing position to be in," she stated.

Earlier update and social media video

Toffolo also joked about her emotional state during the process. "Lol are you guys excited for me to come on in here in a week and say I'm having a meltdown," she quipped.

Back in April, Toffolo emotionally revealed that she and Watt had been trying for a baby for five months without success. In a video clip shared to social media, she tried to keep her upset to a minimum while opening up to followers.

"My gut has been telling me to share this, but my head has been saying no. Oh my God, I don't know why I'm gonna get upset," she said in the clip. "Something that I've been, like, really hiding. My husband and I have been trying for a baby. It hasn't happened on month one, month two, three, four, five. According to all the amazing doctors, that is completely normal. Who knew?"

Partner support during pregnancy testing

Toffolo explained that people usually only hear stories of getting pregnant on the first try, by accident, or after prolonged struggle, leaving her in an unspoken middle ground. "We are in that really weird space. I just wish someone like me had come on and spoken about it," she said.

She described the stress of the two-week wait, noting that symptoms like cramps or swollen breasts can signal either pregnancy or an oncoming period. She also revealed that she initially took monthly pregnancy tests alone until Watt intervened.

"One thing I really wish I hadn't done, I kept doing the pregnancy test every month on my own, and I didn't think that was a weird thing until James walked in and was like, what are you doing? He was like, 'babe, you need to stop doing that on your own. We are doing this together,'" she recalled.

Toffolo said testing together brought immense emotional relief. She emphasized that they do not view themselves as struggling with infertility, but rather as two fortunate people in an in-between stage, adding: "I would love to hear from people in the comments that had a very similar journey to us, that ended up with this perfect like little gift at the end, positive vibes, guys." Fans subsequently responded with supportive messages praising her openness.
