Georgia Toffolo had her bank card declined while attempting to pay £27.50 for a lobster paella, joking that her multimillionaire husband James Watt had failed to put money in their joint account.
The 31-year-old former Made in Chelsea star posted a TikTok video showing herself queuing at a street food stall in London's Borough Market, one of the oldest and largest food markets in the city, known for its artisan produce.
As she reached the front to pay for the meal, the clip showed her gasping at the price before a stall worker informed her that her card had been rejected.
"Insufficient funds," a shocked Toffolo said. "That's because James hasn't topped up the joint bank account."
She then jokingly pretended to make a telephone call to Watt, asking him to transfer money into the account.
The video then jumped to Toffolo holding the paella dish.
"This better taste bloody good," she told the camera. "You can get a Ryanair flight to Malaga for a real one for 27 quid. You could, nice, right? £27.50, quite a lot, but worth it."
Ryanair is an Irish low-cost airline known for offering budget flights across Europe, including to Spanish tourist destinations such as Malaga.
Unpaid clothing bill
The incident follows a social media post earlier this month in which Toffolo admitted she was hoping her husband would not realise she had forgotten to reimburse him for clothing she bought using his card.
Preparing for an evening out with Watt, she shared her outfit on Instagram.
She wore autumn boots and a dress by luxury fashion brand Khaite, which she had ordered from the high-end retailer Net-a-Porter.
Watt filmed her as she made him guess where her bag was from, revealing it was from the secondhand online marketplace Vinted.
Watt co-founded the Scottish multinational brewery and pub chain BrewDog in 2007, serving as its chief executive until earlier this year. He has an estimated net worth of £400 million.
Toffolo, who rose to fame on the E4 reality television series chronicling the lives of affluent young people in West London, is estimated to be worth around £3 million herself.
Discussing the outfit with her followers, Toffolo stopped herself mid-sentence.
"I was going to say something then but I'm not going to say it... because it will remind you...!" she said.
Later in the video she spoke to the camera by herself and whispered.
"What I didn't want to say is that James actually bought me this dress and shoes and I was meant to pay him back but he forgot," she said. "So I didn't want to mention it. But that's the truth. I'm screwed if he does."
Her followers were divided over the confession.
"PAY HIM BACK… I'm sorry I never comment on celebrities posts but girl he's a multi millionaire and more than that he's your HUSBAND!!!" one user wrote.
Another follower replied: "Don't pay him back."
Airport jokes
Watt has previously mocked Toffolo over her finances.
The couple, who married last year after being together for two years, filmed a TikTok trend while at an airport waiting for a flight to Lake Como, an upscale resort area in northern Italy, earlier this year.
The trend involved them announcing "Boarding all passengers who..." before making a playful comment about their partner.
"Boarding all passengers who still call it a joint bank account despite having never put a penny in it," Watt said.
"That's so true!" Toffolo confessed.
The businessman then commented on their fertility struggles, after Toffolo spoke publicly about trying unsuccessfully for eight months to fall pregnant.
"Boarding all passengers whose recent social media posts about fertility now means everyone thinks their husband is firing blanks," Watt said. "The sperms were tested. They were very good."
