German authorities are investigating 139 additional suspicious cases linked to male nurse Ulrich S., who was previously convicted of killing ten patients. The court may bring new charges against him in 2027, according to a report by The Straits Times citing German media.
In November 2025, a court sentenced Ulrich S. to life imprisonment after finding him guilty of murdering ten patients and attempting to murder 27 others. The court established that he intentionally gave lethal doses of sedatives and painkillers to mostly elderly patients during night shifts. Ulrich S. said he committed the acts because he was tired of working and wanted to reduce his workload.

The investigation follows another case in Germany where a 41-year-old doctor received a life sentence for killing 15 patients. That doctor later justified his actions by stating that he wanted to relieve the suffering of his patients.
