Streaming service Hulu has cancelled its dark comedy series Deli Boys after two seasons, leaving audience members without a resolution following a major finale cliffhanger.
In Spain, the criminal comedy aired exclusively on Disney+. The cancellation means fans will not find out the identity of a hidden relative or the fate of a key character left poisoned in the final moments of the second season.

Low ratings offset strong critical reception
According to a report by entertainment trade publication Deadline, the decision to axe the series was driven by modest viewership figures. The low audience turnout came despite exceptionally positive reviews from television reviewers.
Across its two seasons, the comedy achieved an average approval rating of 98 percent among critics on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. Hulu had previously renewed the project for a second season after signing comedian Fred Armisen to the regular cast in an effort to broaden its viewership base.
Created by Abdullah Saeed, the show was produced by Onyx Collective and 20th Television, both production arms operated under Walt Disney Television. The narrative centered on Mir Dar and Raj Dar, two privileged Pakistani-American brothers living in the United States.
Inherited criminal empire
The storyline began after the death of the brothers' father, Baba Dar. Following his passing, Mir and Raj discovered that their family's conventional business was a cover for an extensive underground criminal empire involved in drug trafficking.
Alongside Naveeda, a trusted confidante of their late father known by the alias Lucky, the brothers fully immersed themselves in the narcotics trade to preserve and expand their inherited operation.
The second season expanded the storyline by introducing Fred Armisen as Max Sugar, an influential casino owner and expert money launderer. The supporting cast across the series featured guest appearances and recurring roles from Andrew Rannells, Kumail Nanjiani, Lilly Singh, Robin Thede, and Tan France.
Unresolved finale cliffhangers
The series finale left two major plot threads hanging. The central mystery introduced a character referred to as the eldest Dar, a previously unknown elder brother to Mir and Raj. Shortly after securing a major victory, the Dar family receives a gift accompanied by a congratulatory note declaring that the sender is coming to claim their share of the business.
Lucky instantly recognizes the threat implied by the note, with her reaction suggesting that she already knows who sent the message. The episode ends without disclosing the identity of the hidden sibling or explaining why he remained concealed from the family for so many years.
A second cliffhanger directly threatens the life of a key supporting character, Matthew. Upon receiving the delivered package, Matthew begins eating the enclosed pie before Lucky can alert him that it has been laced with poison. The final scene depicts Matthew collapsing to the ground, leaving it unconfirmed whether the character survived or died.
