Peruvian-Cuban urban duo Javiko and Lumbreras have released their new reparto single Y que paso, reinterpreting the popular cumbia song written by composer Pelo D'Ambrosio.
The new version is available across digital music platforms, while its official music video has been published on the YouTube channel of Jota Ele Music, the record label representing the duo.
The original composition by Pelo D'Ambrosio is widely recognized across Peru. While cumbia is one of the most established musical genres in the country, reparto is an urban subgenre originating in Cuba that has gained widespread popularity in dance venues across Latin America.
Reparto version of cumbia hit
Javiko and Lumbreras have built several years of experience within the urban music scene. The duo has developed a strong following by producing reparto versions of romantic tracks, including previous releases such as El doctorado, Te regalo amores, and Feliz.
Their romantic adaptations focus on everyday experiences shared by couples. Over recent months, the performers have seen their profile grow within the reparto movement, drawing audiences to dance at their live concerts.
Stage performance and genre popularity
Speaking about their trajectory, Javiko said that the reparto genre has arrived to stay in urban music, pointing to the growing number of singers performing the style today. He stated that the duo offers a distinct presence on stage through talent, emotion, showmanship, and their own musical identity.
Javiko added that while they respect other reparto artists, he and Lumbreras focus on establishing a direct connection with their audience. He noted that they step down from the stage during performances to sing, dance, and share emotional moments with fans to deliver a complete show.

Looking to the future, Lumbreras said that the duo is preparing to launch new songs and collaborative projects. He noted that updates regarding their concert schedule and upcoming music releases are published on their official social media channels.
Lumbreras also stated that multiple musical projects are currently being developed alongside the teams at Jota Ele Music and Deep Master. He added that the duo is working closely with their music producer, Pive Produce, on their upcoming recordings.
