Olympic champion Jessica Fox and model Montana Cox stepped out in style on Friday at the inaugural Gucci x Padel Invitational at the Sydney Opera House.
The star-studded event brought fashion, celebrity, and sport together on a purpose-built glass court constructed along the landmark venue's Northern Broadwalk.
Fox, 32, looked red hot in a striking scarlet coat decorated with gold Gucci fastenings. The canoe slalom star added a colourful floral headscarf worn over her glossy brunette waves, while a patterned skirt was glimpsed beneath her statement coat.
She accessorised her outfit with a black quilted Gucci shoulder bag featuring the fashion house's signature red-and-green stripe, delicate jewellery, and classic patent pumps. The athlete appeared in high spirits as she posed beside the court.
Fox is one of Australia's most celebrated sports stars, having made history as a three-time Olympic gold medallist and the most decorated canoe slalom competitor in Games history. Italian luxury fashion house Gucci hosted the two-day gathering staged on August 15 and 16.
High Fashion on the Harbour
Meanwhile, Australia's Next Top Model winner Montana Cox, 32, served up a dramatically different look for the harbour-side occasion.
The statuesque model put on a leggy display in an oversized black leather blazer worn as a daring minidress with a plunging neckline. She complemented the sultry outfit with sheer tights, glossy black heels, and a structured Gucci handbag, wearing her long brunette hair loose with a heavy fringe framing her features.
Influencer Elle Ferguson also aced the fashion brief in a relaxed navy trouser suit comprising an oversized double-breasted blazer, wide-leg trousers, and sharply pointed black boots. She added a Gucci flourish with a black top-handle bag featuring green-and-red stripes, styling her blonde hair in loose waves alongside layered gold necklaces, statement rings, and smoky eye makeup.
Hunter Reilly played it cool in a glossy burgundy leather blazer layered over an all-black ensemble. He teamed the double-breasted jacket with an open-collar shirt, tailored trousers, and polished dress shoes, striking a relaxed pose beside the net with his curly auburn hair naturally tousled.
Model Bambi Northwood-Blyth turned up the glamour in a semi-sheer black lace minidress embellished with shimmering sequins, while actor Thomas Cocquerel cut a suave figure in a sharply tailored navy suit.
Front-row spectators Chaad Hewitt and Matt Ford appeared to have a ball watching the courtside action. Guest Lucas White-Smith kept his look effortlessly cool in a black Gucci jacket detailing the label's signature red-and-green stripes.
The Rise of Padel
Friday's gathering marked the beginning of a major weekend for padel, a racquet sport currently sweeping the globe. The temporary glass court set up on the Sydney Opera House's Northern Broadwalk offered players and spectators panoramic harbour views.
Padel combines elements of tennis and squash and is generally played in doubles on an enclosed court where glass walls remain part of the action.
More than 38 million people now play padel across over 170 countries, according to statistics from the International Padel Federation.
Celebrity Match Decided by Single Point
Action at the Sydney Opera House continues on Saturday when Australian tennis royalty Ash Barty and Pat Rafter headline the Celebrity 1 Point Padel competition.
The sudden-death tournament format will feature actors, Olympians, sporting identities, and international padel professionals. Under the rules of the exhibition event, each match will be decided by a single frantic point.
Rafter said he had developed a genuine passion for padel and was thrilled to join Barty on the temporary court.
"It's going to be an amazing spectacle and a lot of fun," he said.
