Former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson has confirmed her new relationship with boyfriend Ben Davies by sharing the first photo of his face on her Instagram page during a date in Soho.
The 35-year-old pop star, who recently split from her ex-fiance Zion Foster, posted an image showing landscape gardener Davies driving a Range Rover while holding her hand.
Davies was dressed in all black with his tattooed arms on display in the picture, while only Nelson's outstretched arm and hand were visible.
The post marks the first time Davies' face has appeared on Nelson's social media platform. It follows a subtle teaser shared on her Instagram Stories earlier this month, where she posted an image showing a man's tattooed arm on the far left side as the pair enjoyed drinks at a swanky rooftop garden.
The couple officially made their debut during their date in Soho, where onlookers reported they could not take their hands off one another.
Ejection from London rooftop bar
The social media announcement follows reports earlier this month that one of the couple's dates was thwarted when they were ejected from a swanky London bar.
Nelson and Davies began their evening with a quiet trip to My Old Dutch Pancake House before heading to Madison in St Paul's, a rooftop venue overlooking the city.
According to a report published by The Sun, a fracas ensued at the venue. Video footage obtained by the publication showed a large group involved in a rumble after Davies was said to be "getting in people's faces".
The pair were asked to leave, with the situation becoming "quite heated with the men shouting at bouncers".
An insider insisted Nelson was trying to "deescalate the situation", while Davies was said to be "coming across like a, 'Do you know who I am?'". Representatives for Nelson were contacted by the Daily Mail for comment at the time of the incident.
Despite the drama during their day out, Nelson looked stunning in a bra top and cycling shorts, while Davies opted for a white tee paired with a Goyard clutch bag.
Spinal muscular atrophy awareness campaign
The altercation added an unpleasant element to a rare day off from parenting for Nelson, who is currently tirelessly campaigning to raise awareness for Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 (SMA).
Nelson shares 15-month-old twin daughters, Ocean and Story, with ex-fiance Zion Foster. The twins were diagnosed with the rare muscle-wasting condition in January, shortly before Nelson and Foster announced their split.
SMA can leave babies unable to sit up, crawl or walk. In the most severe cases, it stops them breathing or swallowing, but caught early enough treatment can significantly improve outcomes for affected children.
Testing for the condition works through a simple heel prick to collect a small sample of blood from the baby, taken shortly after birth.
Split from Zion Foster and Parliament campaign
In her recent Amazon Prime documentary, Nelson spoke about the split in detail, describing the emotional weight of their daughters' diagnosis.
"It's a very traumatic thing that we've both been through. I think it's quite inevitable for things like this to happen to couples I don't think it's a shock that we've broken up..." Nelson said.
She added: "You'll either be a team or it'll tear you apart and unfortunately I feel that's what it's done to me and Zion. We still get on, there's not bad feeling. My main priority is them. I just want to be the best mum with the best energy and positivity possible..."
Describing their living arrangements, Nelson explained: "The house was not like that when we were together. We’re both dealing with this situation completely differently, and together we were clashing. I decided we would be better off apart. It’s hard. It’s just me and mum now."
Explaining how proud she is that her daughters' story has paved the way for change, Nelson continued: "I feel super proud that my girls' story has been a part of change and I can't wait when they're a bit older and they understand to be able to tell them that."
She added: "I've always said I want this to be their little superpower and I feel now, when they understand, I can let them know that."
Nelson has been campaigning for wider testing, but after an initial decision in Parliament last month, she was seen fighting back tears as she told interviewers: "I'm going to be completely honest, I was absolutely fuming. I feel so let down."
Reflecting on the emotional day, she told the Daily Mail: "I'm such a big manifester. I really believe if you put your mind to it and you put it out there you can make it happen."
She added: "But I think obviously when I went to Parliament and they said that they weren't going to roll it out across the whole UK, I was devastated. I was absolutely devastated."
