Actor John Glover, 82, was spotted enjoying a rare public outing with his husband, Adam Kurtzman, during a walk in Los Angeles. The pair, together for 33 years, held hands and put on a tender display as they strolled down the street.
Glover is known for playing villains, including Lionel Luthor on Smallville, Sylar's father on Heroes, Floronic Man on Batman & Robin, the voice of the Riddler on the Batman animated series, and Daniel Clamp in Gremlins 2: The New Batch.
Glover and Kurtzman have been married since 2016, though their relationship dates back to 1993. The couple were also seen heading to dinner at Little Beast, an Eagle Rock restaurant specializing in new American cuisine, with Glover wearing a blue button down shirt and jeans as he followed his partner inside.
The Daily Mail contacted representatives for Glover for comment.
A career built on villains
The outing marked a break from work for Glover, who has been acting since the 1970s, appearing on Broadway and in film and television. He has received multiple Emmy nominations for his TV work and a Tony nomination for Waiting for Godot.
Glover played LuthorCorp founder Lionel Luthor on Smallville for 16 years. He told Playbill in 2009 that he got typed early on as a villain, adding that Lionel Luthor is not exactly a comedian, though he thinks of himself as one.
Glover said villains are some of the best roles because they move the plot along, since they are either neurotic or psychotic, which he called fun to play.
Playing Daniel Clamp in Gremlins 2
Glover also played Daniel Clamp in the 1990 film Gremlins 2: The New Batch, a role he described as Donald Trump meets Ted Turner. He told the LA Times he played the world's biggest developer, who buys the old Chinaman's shop for the Clamp Chinatown Center and puts Gizmo in Clamp Tower, where a faulty water fountain splashes Gizmo and the gremlins take over New York.
A voracious knitter
Outside of acting, Glover has knitted on and off since the 1960s, when a wardrobe director taught him to stitch. He told The New York Times in 2009 that once he started knitting and creating, he stopped being so angry, calling it a kind of meditation and explaining that he only does scarves because it keeps things simple and lets him keep his mind fresh.
Celebrating 33 years together
Glover describes himself simply as "actor and husband" on Instagram. He recently marked 33 years with Kurtzman on the platform, captioning a post: "33 years and counting. Happy anniversary @adamkurtzman."
