Television personality Kelly Osbourne is in a happier place following her split from keyboardist Sid Wilson as she focuses on raising her three-year-old son in the countryside, her brother Jack Osbourne has revealed.
The 41-year-old television star separated from Wilson, 49, in March. The former couple share a son, Sidney, and Wilson has since departed his long-time heavy metal band Slipknot under undisclosed circumstances.
Speaking in a new interview with The Sun, Jack Osbourne, 40, described how his sister has adapted to life away from the spotlight to establish a stable routine for herself and her child.
"Kelly’s living her country life. You know, she’s living out by the house and she’s just doing her thing, being a mum," Jack said. "She’s in a happier place and she’s got a good routine going. She’s focusing on her and her son."
Instagram posts and public fallout
The update on Kelly's life comes after she appeared to hit out at her ex-fiancé on social media earlier this month, shortly after his sudden departure from Slipknot was made public.
In an impassioned series of Instagram posts, Kelly wrote: "I can't protect you from yourself anymore."
"Wake the f**k up and take some responsibility. I will not take your s**t anymore. I'm done," she continued. "I want to be happy and I have a beautiful son to raise. Leave me alone. Let me heal."
Addressing her followers further, she added: "Strange how the loudest defence of the guilty is rarely innocence... It's distraction. When the mask slips, they don't face the mirror they throw it at someone else. I heard that when you break a mirror you get seven years bad luck. Or is that karma?"
In a subsequent Instagram Story, Kelly directly addressed financial and personal matters, writing: "Also while I'm at it can I have my dogs back and all my possessions Oh yeah and maybe some child support?" She added: "This is why I always take accountability. As they say some are sicker than others."
Representatives for Wilson were contacted by the Daily Mail for comment at the time of the posts.
Tributes to rock legend Ozzy Osbourne
Elsewhere in the interview, Jack opened up about the recent loss of their father, legendary rock musician Ozzy Osbourne, who died on July 22 at the age of 76.
The former Black Sabbath frontman passed away just weeks after performing his final concert, the Back to the Beginning show at Villa Park. During a career spanning over five decades, the singer sold more than 100 million records and became world-famous after founding the pioneering heavy metal band in his hometown of Birmingham in 1968.
Recalling the immediate aftermath of his father's death, Jack said: "In those first minutes it was like a freight train coming through the door. That’s when it hit me. But there’s a lot of gratitude that I was able to spend the week before he died with him."
Jack explained that an unexpected illness allowed the family to spend precious final days together. "After the final show, I was supposed to get on a plane to go to Portugal for a week with my kids but everyone in my family got the stomach flu, so we ended up cancelling the trip," he said. "Instead, we ended up just spending a week at the house with my dad and my mum, and thank God. Without that, we wouldn’t have had that time, we wouldn’t have been there."
Jack shared that the family continues to talk about Ozzy every day, adding that he has honoured his father's legacy by naming his fifth daughter after the iconic musician.
