Australian pop star Kylie Minogue has celebrated the 25th anniversary of her hit single Can't Get You Out of My Head, sharing a message of gratitude and nostalgia with her fans.

The track was originally released on September 8, 2001, before going on to conquer the top spot on music charts in more than 40 countries worldwide.

Minogue marked the quarter-century milestone online by asking her followers if they remembered where they were when the song first entered their lives. Reflecting on the moment, she said she remembered exactly where she was at the time, and offered her love to everyone who helped bring the track to reality both during its initial launch and in the years since.

Built around a hypnotic refrain, the song defined pop music in the early 2000s and triggered a major artistic revolution in Minogue's career. Its release was accompanied by a futuristic music video in which the singer drove a sports car while wearing an elegant white hooded dress with distinctive cutouts, creating an aesthetic image that remains influential today.

Chart success of the Fever album

Can't Get You Out of My Head served as the lead single for Fever, Minogue's eighth studio album, which was released in late 2001. The album marked a masterful reinvention for the Australian diva, incorporating contemporary music trends to deliver a sophisticated, sensual, and groundbreaking pop and dance sound.

Fever consolidated Minogue as a global superstar and achieved major success in the United States, a commercial market that had previously resisted her music. The album became a long-running source of number one hits, dominating sales charts for years after its initial release.

The success of the lead single paved the way for subsequent hits from the album, including the vibrant track In Your Eyes and the euphoric song Love at First Sight, both of which remain fixtures in her live concert performances. The album era culminated with the release of Come Into My World, a masterpiece featuring an innovative music video that earned Minogue a Grammy Award.

The Grammy Awards are presented annually by the Recording Academy in the United States to recognise outstanding achievements in the music industry. The accolade for Come Into My World cemented the global impact of the Fever album cycle.

Documentary series and recent music

Twenty-five years after the release of her signature track, Minogue maintains a strong presence in global music. Her chameleon-like ability to reinvent her sound and appeal to newer generations was demonstrated by the recent success of her hit single Padam Padam.

To honor her extensive career, a three-part documentary series titled Kylie was released in May. Directed by Michael Harte, the production provides access to the singer's private archives and features unreleased footage alongside new interviews detailing her rise to fame and her resilience through difficult moments.

Major performances and upcoming projects

Minogue recently returned home to Australia to headline the entertainment at the Australian Football League Grand Final. The annual match is the championship game of Australian rules football and stands as one of the largest sporting events in the country.

In addition to her solo work, Minogue has teamed up with fellow pop star Madonna to present a duet version of the track Love Sensation, bringing together two of dance music's most prominent figures.
