Kyra Gracie Denies Rock in Rio Clash With Wanessa Camargo

Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion Kyra Gracie has dismissed rumors of tension with pop singer Wanessa Camargo during the Rock in Rio music festival.

Gracie, 41, attended the VIP enclosure at the festival alongside her husband, 50-year-old actor Malvino Salvador, and the couple's children, Ayra and Rayan, before reports circulated online alleging an awkward confrontation between the women.

Taking to Instagram stories, Gracie shared a series of videos to address the gossip after waking up to more than twenty messages inquiring about her marriage and asking what had happened at the venue. She explained that she had woken up feeling unwell with flu-like symptoms, adding that her children had wanted to stay until the end of the festivities.

Rock in Rio VIP area rumors

The controversy emerged after a media portal claimed that Gracie and her family abruptly walked out of the VIP space due to a provocative dance performed by Camargo, 43. Gracie rejected the report, explaining that nothing related to the claim had taken place and that she actively avoids drama.

Gracie told followers that she would never remove her husband from any event, adding that even if an incident had occurred, she would never allow it to show publicly. She emphasized that she and Salvador maintain a peaceful relationship, communicate often, and keep all personal family matters private, insisting that nothing happened with Camargo and that everything was fine.

Return to the festival

Gracie is a member of Brazil's famed Gracie jiu-jitsu dynasty and a decorated world grappling champion, while Salvador is a prominent Brazilian television actor known for leading roles in popular primetime telenovelas. Camargo, the daughter of musician Zeze Di Camargo, is a well-known Brazilian pop artist with a career spanning over two decades. Rock in Rio is one of the largest music festivals in the world, regularly drawing prominent celebrities to its enclosures.

Despite the online rumors, the family returned to the festival grounds on Monday night, September 7. Gracie and Salvador brought their children back to the event to watch British singer and pianist Elton John take the stage.
