Spanish pop band La Oreja de Van Gogh will embark on a 12-date music festival tour across Spain in 2027, featuring lead singer Amaia Montero.
The San Sebastián group announced the project on Tuesday, confirming twelve festival dates scheduled between May and September 2027. The announcement extends the band's current era with Montero at the microphone following sell-out concerts in Latin America and an ongoing Spanish tour that includes three shows at the Movistar Arena in Madrid before concluding in December.
In a statement explaining the new project, the band said it felt like yesterday when they walked around camping with their first demo tape at the inaugural Doctor Music Festival. They noted that if anyone had told them back then that they would later tour the world with their songs, they would have laughed in disbelief.
The group described festivals as probably the greatest celebration of live music. They added that taking on the adapted festival format was an honor, a privilege, and a stimulating responsibility.
Festival Tour Schedule and Locations
The newly scheduled festival run takes the band to eight locations across Spain during the spring and summer of 2027:
- May 14 and 15: Interestelar Sevilla in Seville
- May 28 and 29: Spring Festival in Alicante
- June 5: Stone & Music in Mérida
- June 11 and 12: Mallorca Live Occident in Palma de Mallorca
- July 24: Sons del Món in Rosas
- August 10: Concert Music Festival in Chiclana de la Frontera
- August 13: Starlite in Marbella
- September 17 and 18: Caudal Fest in Lugo
Band members also hinted at further developments for their upcoming schedule, noting that a new album or fresh songs could be added to a music career spanning more than a quarter of a century.
Streaming Record for Landmark Hit Rosas
The tour announcement coincided with a major streaming milestone for the group. This week, La Oreja de Van Gogh received a plaque for surpassing one billion plays on the market's most popular music streaming platform with their single Rosas.
The track experienced a major resurgence after Montero made a surprise guest appearance during Colombian singer Karol G's concert tour in the summer of 2024. Performing at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid during Karol G's Mañana será bonito tour, Montero sang Rosas in her first major live performance after years away from the stage.
Originally released in 2003 on the album Lo que te conté mientras te hacías la dormida, Rosas remains a staple of the group's concert setlist while continuing to attract new listeners across generations.
