Actress Laura Dern has visited her Palm Royale co-star Kaia Gerber at her Hollywood Hills home following the shock death of Gerber's brother Presley.
Dern, 59, arrived at the 25-year-old model's residence on Sunday for her second visit in three days, standing as a pillar of support one week after Presley died at age 27.
The Oscar-winning actress was previously seen delivering flowers and groceries to the house on Thursday before returning on Sunday. During her latest visit, Dern wore a black cardigan sweater over a white T-shirt, indigo-washed jeans and black leather loafers.
Presley Gerber, the model son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died on September 20 at a rehab facility in Santa Monica, California, from a suspected overdose. Representatives for Dern did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Mail.
Support from Hollywood friends
Dern, the daughter of actors Bruce Dern and the late Diane Ladd, stars alongside Kaia in the Apple TV+ drama series Palm Royale. Beyond their screen work, Dern has maintained a close friendship with Crawford for decades, with the pair frequently supporting each other at high-profile industry events.
Dern is among several high-profile family friends offering comfort to the Gerber family. Actor George Clooney, 65, and his wife Amal, 48, were seen arriving at Kaia's residence earlier in the week amid the family's grief.
George Clooney has been described as a second father to Presley and Kaia after watching them grow up, earning the affectionate nickname Uncle George. The two-time Oscar winner has been close friends with Rande Gerber since the mid-1990s, prior to Gerber's marriage to Crawford.
Clooney and Rande Gerber co-founded the Casamigos tequila brand in 2013 before selling the company for up to $1 billion in 2017. Clooney is widely considered an extended member of the Gerber family.
Discovery at Santa Monica rehab facility
Dern's visit coincided with the emergence of new details surrounding how Presley's body was discovered. Sources close to the investigation told TMZ on Wednesday that Presley was allegedly found in a bedroom at the high-end facility on Sunday, September 20.
According to sources with knowledge of the investigation, Presley's body was not on the bed but was found nearby inside the room, though an exact location was not specified. Presley had checked into the facility on Saturday night, just hours before he was found dead.
Presley was staying in a separate house located on the grounds of the Santa Monica rehab facility and had roommates. Representatives for Presley have not yet responded to requests for comment from the Daily Mail.
911 call timeline and police investigation
Sources told TMZ that the narcotic fentanyl is not currently a focus of the investigation into Presley's death. Official confirmation regarding any substances involved will depend on the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's final toxicology report.
Audio from the 911 emergency dispatch call obtained by the Daily Mail revealed how rapidly Presley's condition deteriorated. An automated voice on the recording initially cited cardiac arrest before the call was updated to an overdose within minutes.
The first emergency call was placed on Sunday, September 20 at 9:35am regarding a cardiac arrest. The call was upgraded to an overdose at 9:38am, and the dispatch priority was escalated further at 9:40am.
A spokesperson for the Santa Monica Police Department confirmed that officers responded to the luxury facility on Sunday morning before Presley was pronounced dead at the scene.
"On September 20, 2026, at approximately 9.35am, Santa Monica Police Department officers responded to a report of a possible overdose in the 1000 block of Berkeley Street. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male who was deceased," the statement read.
"SMPD detectives are investigating the death as a suspected overdose. At this time, there is no indication of foul play. The investigation remains ongoing."
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner completed Presley's autopsy as of Monday morning, and his body was made ready for release. The official cause of death has not yet been determined.
Ketamine prescription allegations and family turmoil
Sources close to the model told TMZ on Tuesday that a physician had been prescribing Presley ketamine despite knowing about his past history with drug addiction. Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic that can be used off-label to treat drug addiction, though that application is not approved by the FDA.
Close friends of Presley reportedly expressed anger that the doctor prescribed the substance while aware that addiction struggles had been an ongoing issue for him.
Presley had built a career as a model, working with major brands including Calvin Klein and Omega, and previously attended the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City in 2019.
His death occurred just weeks after Kaia spoke publicly in Vogue magazine about the emotional impact of her brother's struggles on their family, sharing how the turmoil had affected everyone.
"When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone," Kaia told Vogue in the interview.
Kaia praised her brother for his openness regarding his struggles, contrasting his transparency with their parents' historically private approach to family matters.
"My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn't share anything, and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, 'I'm gonna be very human for everyone.' There's only so much you can hide from the world," she said. She added: "And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you're ashamed of them."
