The performance will take place in the paddock area directly before drivers take to the track for the main race. Formula 1 drivers will begin mandatory preliminary testing sessions at the circuit this weekend ahead of Sunday's main event.
Pausini, who has enjoyed an international singing career spanning more than 30 years, is responsible for leading the live musical presentation before the race begins. Formula 1 has featured live pre-race musical performances as part of its race-weekend entertainment for more than a year.
Located north of Milan in northern Italy, Monza is one of the oldest and fastest tracks on the Formula 1 calendar, renowned among motorsport fans for its high speeds and long history.
Recent major sports performances
The upcoming appearance at Monza is not the first time Pausini has linked her music to a major international sporting event. A little over a month ago, she took part in the official pre-match entertainment show for the FIFA World Cup final, which concluded with Spain securing the championship title.
During the World Cup final pre-show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Pausini performed the FIFA-commissioned song Desiré alongside British singer Robbie Williams and former Pussycat Dolls vocalist Nicole Scherzinger in front of thousands of spectators.
MetLife Stadium, located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, is a major multi-purpose venue near New York City. Williams rose to fame with the pop group Take That before launching a successful solo career, while Scherzinger gained international prominence as the lead vocalist of the Pussycat Dolls.
International concert tour and latest releases
Pausini's performance at Monza comes in the middle of a marathon concert tour supporting her latest album, Yo Canto 2. The tour launched in Pamplona, Spain, before traveling across major European concert venues.
Spanish radio network CADENA 100 attended the show during its stop at the Movistar Arena in Madrid last spring. The singer still has multiple concert dates remaining on her schedule, including several performances across her home country of Italy.
Throughout the tour, Pausini has been joined on stage by a wide variety of guest artists from across the music industry. Pamplona serves as the capital of the Navarre region in northern Spain, while the Movistar Arena in Madrid is one of Europe's premier indoor concert venues.
Summer single collaboration with Sandy
Despite her heavy touring schedule over recent months, Pausini released a new single three weeks ago in the middle of summer. The track is a Portuguese version of her classic song Quanno Chiove, also released under the title Quando chove.
The slow, harmonic ballad features Brazilian singer Sandy, blending the two vocalists' styles. The mid-summer release arrived at a time of year when new single releases are uncommon on music charts.
Sandy first achieved widespread fame in South America as part of the pop duo Sandy and Junior before establishing a solo career. Pausini, who gained international recognition after winning the newcomer section at the Sanremo Music Festival in 1993, has sold millions of records globally and recorded songs in Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese.
