understand the context

Over the past year, the Startup market has been surprised by a series of mass shutdowns. Sensitized by the news of the layoffs, Jhenyffer Coutinho and his partner Fernanda Miranda have decided to lend a hand. Thus, in 2022, in unprecedented action on the market, Se Candidate, Mulher! launched two editions of Recoloca SCM, which was a success.

In all, over 650 free admissions were granted to the SCM Academy for women affected by layoffs during the period, the first HRTech to do so.

With layoffs continuing and the number of new job cuts continuing, Se Candidate, Mulher! and Layoffs Brasil have partnered to provide more opportunities for women who have been laid off in recent months.

“Going through a time of mass layoffs is not easy, regardless of the reasons. Therefore, our daily fight for equality and respect in the labor market for women could not be indifferent to this sad situation”, explains the managing director of Se Candidate Mulher! Jhenyffer Coutinho.

“Unfortunately, when we look at the statistics, the number of people who identify with this gender continues to be higher than the other. Therefore, we will continue to offer help to women affected by these layoffs, by providing access to SCM Academy, our platform to prepare and improve the performance of women in their selection and outplacement processes in companies.

Personal and professional development

According to João Santos, founder of Layoffs Brasil, the goal of the partnership is to help as many women as possible by providing opportunities, through the SCM Academy, for their self-knowledge, personal and professional development.

“To give you an idea, in 2023 alone we received 1,500 registrations of people made redundant by companies. Together with Se Candidate, Mulher!, we will identify who the women are in our base and direct them to the SCM Academy platform. I am very happy with the initiative because, since the beginning of the creation of Layoffs Brasil, my main objective has been and continues to be to support the people who have suffered these layoffs. We will give them the opportunity to access an incredible tool, with content that will help them in this process of relocating to the job market,” she says.

Food engineer Nayara Fontes is one of the women who have already managed to be relocated in the first edition of the initiative.

“I learned a lot from the content and activities during the time I accessed the platform. At first, I confess I was worried because I thought it would be more of the same. However, I was amazed at the amount of new things I learned. And my apprenticeships soon turned into a substitute. The first company I applied to after using the strategies you taught me hired me. All this after structuring my resume and receiving feedback from the SCM team,” says Fontes.
