The carpentry, in addition to incorporating the structure that supports the futon, was also worked on for the workbench and the wardrobes (both on the sides and on the top).

The futon also helps to break up the austerity of the rooms, making the space more inviting and welcoming. Cushions are also of great importance in this context, creating a cozy corner and endless possibilities for harmonizing the color palette. For these arrangements, the architects give valuable advice on the combinations between the piece and the cushions.

“It’s interesting to leave the futon in a more neutral shade and the cushions in brighter colors, but you can also do the opposite, leaving the futon fabric more vibrant and the cushions in a neutral palette,” advises Claudia.

Enjoy every space

Some facilities have spaces so large that additional futons can be stored, if made with more cushions and firm foam, such as those folded in the home office project. Design by Studio Tangram

Another trump card is that the structures to which the futons are associated (usually in carpentry or MDF), have a hollow composition and, precisely for this reason, conceive more storage spaces. Additionally, the lightweight construction makes the piece easier to remove for site cleaning and sanitizing.
