It is the place where family and friends gather for one of the most enjoyable activities of all: the meal! Even in small apartments it is important to reserve a corner for the dining room. Check out some small and elegant dining room designs:

A mirror spans the entire width of the wall in the dining nook.  Even the height has its reason: it is identical to the distance between the kitchen and the living room.  On the side seen from the hall, the counter is covered with an elegant glossy black laminate.  When moved away from the wall, the table seats up to 8 people.

Two overlapping sheets of finished MDF form the tabletop.  A ceiling diverter centers the pendant above the table.  The back wall features gray graphic wallpaper.  Project by Renata Carboni and Thiago Lorente.

At designer Ana Maria Mouawad Queiroga's home, the dining table has received several irreverent chairs.  The turquoise wall receives the lighting that passes through the glass door (which replaces the window) and a roller blind controls the ambient light.

Above the dining table, direct light comes from a pendant lamp.  Dicroicas highlights the wall covered with cement coating, which gives volume to the surface, renouncing ornaments.  Project by architects Elise and Evelyn Drummond.  Laminate table and linen upholstered chairs.

The colored dots bring the white space to life.  The green pendant was the starting point for the choice of colors in the environment.  Red has been called upon to form the complementary harmony.  The table and chairs are from an antique shop.  Drawing by Carol Spercel.

The mirror gives a sense of depth and expands the space.  In order not to burden the environment, the resident chose a table with a glass top and a wooden cross base.  Following the proposal of lightness, the chairs are made of colorless and black acrylic.  Drawing by Daniel Tesser.

The wall of the dining room of this apartment has been given ordinary burnt concrete with a coat of synthetic resin.  The rustic air is interrupted by the colored screen.  The clear glass top has a vinyl sticker on the underside.  Project by Cecília Guerra and Cristiane Tamburri.

Instead of the sofa, two lacquered wooden coffee tables, six tobacco-coloured chairs and two high stools (for the counter) furnish the space with places to sit in this dining room which imitates an Irish pub and displays coasters, framed labels.

In this dining room, a yellow synthetic leather sofa is the centerpiece of the decor.  A huge chair table is served by chairs, adding white to the warm combination.  A built-in bookcase, with a mirrored wallpaper, visually expands this corner.
