Widow Kaitlin Norton from New Hampshire, USA is receiving criticism from netizens for falling in love with her late husband’s older brother. Even together for seven years, the story still produces conversational commentary from the Internet “court”.
According to a report by The sunKaitlin’s relationship with her brother-in-law Rory Smith soured in less than a year after the overdose death of her husband, Aaron Smith, with whom she’d dated Camden.
Due to a drug problem, Kaitlin decided to seek drug rehabilitation clinic and was admitted to kick her addiction. However, her husband refused treatment. “Rory started coming to visit Camden and I on the weekends, and that’s how we started to bond,” says the widow.
A week before leaving the drug clinic, Kaitlin was informed of the death of her husband Aaron at the age of 22.
“I didn’t really trust her,” Rory said. Even though I didn’t feel sympathy for Kaitlin due to her involvement with drugs and her brother, as soon as she got out of rehab, Rory called her. The contact surprised the widow: “I didn’t expect her voice to remind me so much of Aaron.” “It was such a comfort,” she added.
Rory said he questioned how he felt about his sister-in-law and that he found it “weird” when they started relating. Another crisis point for him was bringing the romance to his family. His mother resisted the idea of the relationship between the two. “My first thought was, ‘How would Aaron feel?’ I knew I wasn’t going to like it at all. He wouldn’t be happy,” Rory said.
Today Kaitlin and Rory are parents of four children, two of whom are the result of this new union: Preslee, Madilynn, Camden and Rory III.
