For the author, the wait for the second publication is due to the success of her debut. “Because the first book touched people’s hearts and they identified with itI think they already trusted the second one,” she told BABY.
In Injured parents, Maya keeps writing clear and smooth and remains a great choice for those who don’t know much about the subject yet. Despite this, of course, read Anger does not educate. calm educates rather it is essential to understand the topics he details in the new book.
“It is a response to the first ones, delving into issues previously addressed and also bringing topics that have already been requested. People were asking for something more practical, so I brought the practicality and applicability of Positive Education through my reports.”, accounts. The last chapter is in fact a collection of personal testimonies of the author that help illustrate some common situations in daily life with children.
Additionally, at the end of each chapter, Maya provides a break for self-reflection, with space to put your thoughts down on paper. “I wanted to promote a deeper reflection on myself. I would like the reader not only to read the book, but to stop for a moment and think about the story itself”, she explains. The goal, says the parent educator, is to show a path to health that can be offered to children through secure attachment. “This is the hope for our humanity,” he stresses.

Self-knowledge as a healing path
Throughout the book, the main theme is the problem of traumas that we experience and that, without realizing it, we transmit in our relationship with the child. Maya continually reiterates how important it is to break this cycle and that, for this reason, (re)recognizing these traumas is essential. “Therapy in my life was and still is essential”, shares the pedagogue, who adds: “The problem is that there are not many therapists who specialize in traumatology, which is precisely the study of emotional trauma. Having an informed and specialized person helps a lot, because it will show us things that maybe our own brain is blocking, it doesn’t want us to see because it hurts.”
In just under 200 pages, Maya Eigenmann’s second book is also published by Astral Cultural and also features foreword by Morgana Secco, digital content creator and mother of Alice and Giulia.
