Flight without children: the controversy over planes with areas reserved for children

The airline that started selling tickets in an area of the plane reserved for adults has made headlines. Understand!

Have you ever heard of it without children? The word means, in literal Portuguese, “childless” and is used to refer to spaces where the little ones are not accepted. There are currently many hotels, for example, that only accommodate adults, even in Brazil. The idea is that people without children (or who travel without them) don’t face completely natural childhood habits, such as screaming, crying and running.

Intended as an additional convenience, passengers will have to pay approx 100 euros more travel in this space without child tourists.

The initiative is by the European group Coredon in partnership with the Spanish company World2fly, and will start from November this year on a specific route: Amsterdam (Netherlands) – Curaçao (an island in the Caribbean).

Amid the negative comments, many highlight this Children are not a “separate” category of society. “Swap ‘children’ for ‘elderly’ and see how problematic it is,” one Internet user commented.

In Brazil no airline has yet decided to follow the same path and, therefore, the issue has not been discussed by Anac (National Agency for Civil Aviation). However, nothing prevents fashion from arriving here soon too: then yes, the agency will be able to take a position on the matter.
