The case was confirmed by the municipality of the city of Rio Grande do Norte and through a technical note from the hospital management.

The case had repercussions this Tuesday the 11th, after images of the improvised “equipment” went viral on social media. OR Earth discovered that the child had been hospitalized with symptoms such as respiratory disorders, nasal congestion, fever, vomiting and diarrhea, among others, last Saturday, 8.
The hospital management reported that it had urgently requested the child’s transfer to a unit equipped with pediatric intensive care. The cake packaging was improvised in an oxygen mask while the team waited for transfer, as if in a ‘semi-intensive bed’.
According to the city of Santa Cruz, the hospital is not a reference in maternal and child emergencies and the improvised solution, used by the doctor on duty, was adopted so that the child could receive the necessary care while waiting for the regulation for the therapy bed intensive.
Finally, the child was transferred this Tuesday morning, 11th, in an ambulance of the Mobile Emergency Health Service (Samu), to the Varela Santiago hospital, in Natal. OR Earth Try contacting the child’s family. The space remains open for demonstrations.
