9 Things in the Kitchen You Can Clean While Cooking Pasta

We tell you what you can clean in the kitchen in 10 minutes.

Some things require special attention, but there are those that, on the contrary, free up time. For example, cooking pasta: first put a pot of water on the stove, then wait for it to boil; you pour the pasta and think again about what to do with yourself for five to seven minutes.

Today we are going to tell you about things in the kitchen that can be cleaned while cooking pasta – after all, you can’t drink coffee, right? It takes more time to take a break to rest, so it’s better…

Wipe all devices

  • Duration: two to three minutes
  • Tools: vinegar spray

A quick kitchen clean involves cleaning large, visible areas, so why not wipe down your appliances? Mix nine percent white vinegar and water in a one-to-one ratio in a spray bottle, spray the surfaces of stainless steel and plastic appliances, then wipe them with a clean microfiber cloth. Enjoy: all fingerprints and other greasy stains have disappeared and the stainless steel shines like new!

Wipe the table top

  • Duration: two minutes
  • Tools: microfiber cloth

Every countertop needs a disinfectant deep clean from time to time, but right now we’re in “clean the kitchen while the food cooks” mode. So we put the tray in order according to the minimum program: just wet the microfiber with water, wipe off all the stains and brush off the crumbs.

Do you know what the best kitchen items are for quick cleanup? Towels! Every time I have a minute or two – for example, I wait for the kettle to boil, I replace them with fresh ones and wipe the table top and the table with the old ones – as a result, I have always impeccably cleaned them and the towels, which are sent more often to the wash.

Wipe the cabinet doors

  • Duration: two to three minutes
  • Tools: Vinegar and dish soap spray

Once again, we act according to the principle of simplification: when cleaning kitchen utensils during cooking, one should not try to clean the cabinet shelves or get rid of sticky dust. Wipe the doors with a damp microfiber cloth and spray the dirty areas (usually the handles and the areas around them) with a vinegar and water spray, wait 15 seconds and wipe the surface with a dry cloth.

Wash the sink

  • Duration: two minutes
  • Tools: sponge and dishwashing liquid

What other kitchen items can be cleaned quickly? If you are one of those responsible housewives who never have a mountain of dishes in the sink, you can tidy up the sink itself. Use an all-purpose cleaner for almost everything in the kitchen: pour a few drops of dishwashing liquid onto a sponge, wipe the walls and bottom with it, then rinse with clean water.

So we have just completed the “What to clean in the kitchen in 10 minutes” checklist. The result is an almost clean room, where all surfaces shine – and the pasta is cooked. But if you have whole grain cones, you have an extra three minutes, and that’s why it’s worth spending it on.

Sweep

  • Duration: three minutes
  • Tools: broom and dustpan

Sometimes the question “What can be quickly cleaned in the kitchen?” It is better to replace the second word with “need” – and the answer in this case will be gender. Crumbs and stains accumulate there and can therefore spoil the entire impression of the room. We’ll wash and vacuum it later: for now, just grab a dustpan and broom and sweep up all the debris. (If you have a cordless upright vacuum, use it: it’s a great solution for quick cleaning.)

Done – kitchen cleaning completed in 15 minutes. But what should pasta lovers do if all their cabinets are polished and their sink is still sparkling? For them, we have collected some additional tasks that require very little time.

Unpack a box

When thinking about items that can be cleaned quickly in the kitchen, cabinet drawers rarely come to mind – cleaning them usually takes a long time. Therefore, professional housekeeper Victoria Tran advises to “eat the elephant piece by piece”: “Clean one of the drawers – take out everything, think about whether it’s time to throw something out, wipe the bottom. You can definitely do it in 10 minutes by completing one of your spring cleaning tasks,” she says.

Wash a refrigerator shelf

Deep cleaning the refrigerator is something we always put off. Professional cleaner Rocky Vuong advises approaching this task the same way you approach kitchen cabinet drawers: cleaning one shelf at a time. “Remove food, throw out expired food, wipe the shelf with a mixture of vinegar and water, then dry it with a clean cloth. So by the time you do some spring cleaning in the kitchen, the refrigerator will no longer need your attention,” says Rocky.

Clean the microwave

“Want to know what you can clean in the kitchen while cooking? Pour water into a cup, add a tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice, place in the microwave, turn it on at maximum power for three minutes. When it turns off, wait another five minutes, open the microwave and wipe it with a cloth – you can dip the cloth in the remaining solution. This is one of the fastest and most effective cleaning methods: we use it in the most advanced cases,” explains Victoria.

Throw away the trash and disinfect the trash can

The trash can is typically a warm, humid environment in which bacteria thrive. They are not dangerous to your health – the only thing at risk is a dog if it likes to rummage in garbage and if it has the opportunity to do so. But a bucket can spoil the atmosphere in the house: according to housekeepers, this is one of the main sources of stench in the apartment. If you have five minutes, take out the trash bag, spray a mixture of vinegar and water on the walls of the tank, wait a few minutes, wipe up the solution with paper towels and replace it with a new bag.
