The tarot reader explains how they can also be interpreted positively
The Tarot uses cards for self-knowledge and spiritual guidance. The deck consists of 78 cards, divided into two main groups: the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. Each card has a specific meaning and can be interpreted in different ways depending on its position in the reading and its combination with other cards.
The cards of Death and the Devil, both Major Arcana, are usually very feared. First, people tend to believe that it represents death itself. Secondly, bad news. However, the name and image of these cards cannot be taken literally.
According to tarot reader Isabel Fogaça, both cards have positive poles of interpretation, such as the need to end a cycle to start new things and can also mean success.
“The Death card, in fact, speaks of the need for coolness to end a cycle and start new things. After all, we live through phases of life and death, that is, we constantly end and start things in life. On the bright side, the devil card, also much feared, can speak of deep desire, creativity, ambition and success,” he explains.

Negative interpretations of the cards
But, like everything in this life, there is a downside, such as the end of a painful cycle, the need to put one’s ego aside, among others. however, the cards have interpretations different and cannot be interpreted only with the meaning of the word “death” or “devil”.
“The death card, for example, can indicate that it is necessary for a relationship to end in order to be happier; or that a job no longer meets your expectations and does not make you grow; it can also indicate the need to let go of the ‘ego and end a fight,’ explains the tarot reader.
According to her, this card says that it is necessary to accept the end of some things in order to be reborn. In fact, that’s why there is an image of the rising sun in the background. “On the negative side, the Devil card can speak of greed, vanity, trauma, envy, unnecessary competition. It can also speak of addictions and warn the counselor of energy dangers,” she adds.
The tarot reader explains it, just like in death letter there is the sun, as a sign of rebirth, in the devil’s card there are chains around people’s necks. Both images present at the bottom of the cards, often not taken into consideration, have the meaning of rebirth and the possibility of leaving the prison that holds them.
