Homemade Chicken Pie

Time: 1h20

Performance: 10 servings

Difficulty: easy

Ingredients:

  • 500 g of wheat flour approximately
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup (tea) of warm water
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 tablespoons of cachaça
  • Oil for frying

Filling

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 2 chopped seedless tomatoes
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • Salt, black pepper and chopped parsley to taste
  • 1 cup (tea) of Catupiry® cream cheese

Preparation method:

  1. For the filling, in a pan, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic for 3 minutes.
  2. Add the tomato and chicken and sauté for 4 minutes.
  3. Season with salt, pepper and parsley, add the ricotta and mix.
  4. For the dough, in a bowl, mix the flour, salt and yeast.
  5. In a blender, blend the water, oil and cachaça.
  6. Knead with the flour until you get a smooth dough that doesn’t stick to your hands.
  7. Add more flour if necessary. Divide the dough into 10 balls.
  8. Open each one with the help of a rolling pin and divide the filling between them.
  9. Close and press the edges with a fork.
  10. Fry in very hot oil, drain on absorbent paper and serve immediately.
