Learn how to interpret the messages of your unconscious in a responsible and personalized way
Dreams are a gateway to the subconscious and there is no shortage of general interpretations about them. However, there are some techniques to understand correctly – and in a personal way – what they are trying to tell us while we sleep.
Therefore, Priscila Charbonnières, founder of Soulloop, astrologer and life coachshares 6 tips on how to interpret dreams in a responsible and personalized way. Check!
1. Schedule yourself before bed
Before going to sleep, while you are in bed, take a deep breath. Relax your whole bodylet your muscles melt into the mattress and focus all your attention on your abdomen as you breathe. So, before you go to bed, think of a question and ask to dream about that question. This is an exercise that promotes greater contact with the subconscious. When you wake up, write down what you dreamed.
2. Get up slowly when you wake up
When you wake up, avoid starting any activity. Keep your eyes closed for about 5 minutes, between sleeping and waking, to let the images and sensations of the fantasies continue. It is at this time that the brain is in alpha and that we can access images and the subconscious.
3. Observe the feeling the dream brings you
What emotions prevailed in this dream? This is a very important part. This is the answer, the rest yes symbolism. If the dream brought you that emotion, it is because you have to face it, you have to digest something.

4. Pay attention to the images and symbols
In addition to looking at the images and symbols, look for your personal and emotional connections with those symbols. “For example, I dreamed of a dog and, for me, the dog means welcome, family and fun. But for someone else it could mean threat, fear, loss,” says Priscila Charbonnières. Give meaning to the symbols that appear in your vision. These are the correct answers, because the symbol has a different meaning for each person.
5. Realize whether the dream is trivial or symbolic
The dream that comes from the unconscious, from the mundane, brings information that you were unable to process during the previous day or week. “Not us we record in the brain everything we observe, our mind is not capable of storing all the information,” says the expert.
Therefore, information is stored in the unconscious mind and, during dreams, appears through symbols and images that can be traced back to the area of the brain in which we are working. Only you will know whether it is a symbolic or banal dream. The symbolic comes from the soul, has more meaning, is deeper and more important to you.
6. Keep and revisit a dream journal
It is important to keep an updated diary and revisit it frequently. Sometimes, the day you write down your dream, you are still very much involved in it. After a while, things may happen that will make you understand an old dream or even have another one prospect for that old dream that must bring enormous clarity.
