Nutrologist explains the differences between drinks
Hydration is essential for the correct functioning of our body and the choice of the right drinks plays a key role in this process. Two common options are milk and water, but what is the most suitable?
Dr. Ligiê Brito, a member of the Brazilian Nutrology Association scientific committee explains that milk is a food made up of a liquid part (milk serum containing water and proteins) and a solid part (containing fats and carbohydrates such as lactose).
“Football, phosphorus, vitamin D, vitamin E and vitamin K are present in milk fat. Water is the fluid without nutrients and calories and can have small variations in its composition of salts. It is better to be water,” he explains.
According to the doctor, water is the only drink that has organic activities, which has no contraindication and is essential for life.
Water is the best option to keep the body hydrated, while milk can be an important nutritional complement thanks to its various nutrients. It is always advisable to consult a healthcare profession for personalized guidelines on hydration and nutrition.
