Dear Student Mascot, Dog has a profile on Instagram and even “symbolic position at the University
One of the subjects who dominated social networks this Sunday was Silveira. In X (ex Twitter), he even jokes about the organization of a tour to meet the “rector” dog of the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), to Rio Grande do sul.
Silveira is a defined race dog who lives at the university and has successful there – and obviously on social networks. Who is in advance with it is Zelo, a project of awareness and assistance of UFSM abandoned animals.
The mascot gained its Instagram profile in September 2023, in which photos of their daily life are shared, and animal NGOs are released and important information on the health and well -being of pets. On the page, it is described as “dean of canine business (prac-ufsm)” and collects over 21,000 followers.
Popularity is no wonder. Silveira is a docile dog, who loves being awake, getting affection, sunbathing and is a great partner of students and professionals of the campus – and has his home.
In March of this year, it was “temporarily removed from its newspapers for the campus” for health reasons. A few weeks after suffering from veterinary doctors, Silveira returned to her university home. The news was celebrated on his Instagram.
