The elderly in their lives regret the most of these two things

Unsuccessful solution or lost opportunity in a personal life? People over 80 have said what they regret most in life – and it can become a young lesson.

The HuffPost publication interviewed people over 80 about their regrets in life. The results make you think.

In particular, the respondents revealed two key points.

1. anxiety about what others think

More and more, you will understand: other people do not think of you at all. Therefore, you should worry less about their opinion on your account. Most people only think of themselves and don’t care about others. During the survey, many people over 80 said they were regretting having paid so much attention to the others.

2. Obsessive reflections on the future

Respondents regret so much concern for the future. People often worry and are afraid of what has not yet happened. They think too much about the consequences that have not even come. The investigation participants say they should be more daring and not too much to worry. In the end, what nobody expected was still happening. The respondents noted that if there was an opportunity, they would like to live a life with such an attitude, but now they want to transmit this late wisdom to the young generation.

What can you learn from the old generation? The message is absolutely clear: anxiety is a precious waste of time. Instead, the resources spent on such thoughts should be invested in what you can do now.

How to reduce anxiety: 3 strategies

  • Think of the short term. Of course, you should not completely look at the future. But keep your thoughts under control and focus more on the present.

  • Be ready. Look at your fears and your concerns in the face and give them a decisive battle. Don’t let them delete and actively fight with them.

  • Work on acceptance. Accept what cannot be changed. This will help you throw stressful thoughts and find inner peace.
