The text prohibits any type of anesthesia, such as sedation, general anesthesia and peripheral anesthetic blocks for tattooing procedures. In addition, the ban is valid regardless of the extension or position of the tattoo.
The decision issues an exception for the use of anesthesia: only to allow the tattoo in case of medical indication to reconstruct the parts of the body recognized by medical literature. CFM resolution is already in force.
In January of this year, the influencer Ricardo Godoi died at the age of 46 after suffering the general anesthesia to perform a tattoo. It was in an Itapema clinic, in the northern coast of Santa Catarina, accompanied by anesthesiologist and had complications even after the exams discovered that it was healthy.
In 2024, the practice was also increasing mainly among the artists of the world of music. Mc Pedrinho and Mc Daniel were some of those who spent hours eliminated, under the influence of general anesthesia, to obtain large tattoos.
