‘Millennial break’ is the discourse of the new generation

One of the most discussed topics this week is about ‘Millennial break ‘, also known as the “break of the millennium”. The subject gained strength on TikTok and, after going viral, it also ended up on the international tabloids. And if you still don’t understand trendit’s time to meet her!

Basically, it all started thanks to singer Taylor Swift – curious, right ?! This is because the 32-year-old artist belongs to the of the Millennium and a curiosity has been observed in his latest videos: before he starts talking, he takes a break from some insurance – hence the name ‘Millennial pause ‘.

But the most interesting thing is the reason for this wait: technology! After all, when that generation was a teenager, technologies weren’t as advanced as they are now, and it took some time to check if the camera was really recording before speaking.

Generation X technology

Despite the meme, this technological change between generations it can also hide a more serious discussion, you know? This is because, according to psychologist Fernando Ferreira, it is always good to remember that millennials were born together with the Internet and have evolved with it. Generation Z, on the other hand, was born immersed in this technology and this brings out some not exactly positive points.

“There are two factors that can negatively affect these young people: the excessive use of networks, mainly to avoid moments of anxiety, take refuge and avoid social situations; and the partial use, which leads to negative comparisons or even painful publications” , warns the psychologist.

Also according to him, it is worth noting that the correct use of technologies is very positive. However, with all of these advances, it is common to see generations experiencing an “information overdose”, due to so much content that is now possible.

So maybe a little break isn’t that bad, is it ?!
