Television personality Lisa Rinna detailed the high-stress environment behind the scenes at New York Fashion Week during a live broadcast on Sept. 10.
Speaking on the Live From E! Stream during the Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2027 Runway Show on Sept. 10, the 63-year-old star shared what takes place before models walk the catwalk. Rinna noted that the backstage atmosphere is defined by intense pressure and fast-paced preparation.
"So much goes into it," Rinna exclusively shared during the broadcast. "It's really nerve-wracking back there."
Rinna added that pre-show preparation moves rapidly as the deadline approaches. "Everyone's nervous," she continued. "Everything is last minute. It's a rush. It's an adrenaline rush, and it's so fabulous. It's so fun." She also described the period before models hit the runway as "whack-a-doodle time."
Rinna is a former cast member of the reality television series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and an actor. New York Fashion Week is one of four major international fashion weeks held semi-annually in New York City, bringing together top designers, models, and celebrities to preview seasonal collections.
Although Rinna took a seat in the audience rather than strutting down the catwalk at the Tommy Hilfiger show, she has walked the New York Fashion Week runway three times in the past. Her most recent runway walk was for the PRISCAVera show in 2022. She also closed out the Dennis Basso show in February 2020 alongside her daughters.
Rinna shares two daughters, Delilah Belle Hamlin, 28, and Amelia Gray Hamlin, 25, with her husband, actor Harry Hamlin. When asked which stars she would want watching her from the audience during future runway appearances, Rinna named family members alongside global entertainment icons.
"Oh gosh, my daughters, my husband," she said, before adding, "A$AP Rocky and Rihanna, Madonna, Cher. I mean, why not?"
Rinna emphasized that she will always enjoy participating in Fashion Week, whether sitting in the front row or appearing on the catwalk. "I love fashion," she said. "I love the creation. I love the people. I love the moments. I just have so much fricking fun."
Personal Style and Expression
The 63-year-old star has continued to experiment with her hair, makeup, and clothing choices, often using wigs to change her look. In an interview with E! News in February 2025, she explained how fashion and hair pieces have offered a meaningful outlet for her creative energy.
"It's fantastic," she told E! News at the time. "I thought the other day, as an actor, I never can express myself enough because I never get to work enough as an actor. So this has been a way for me to express myself and create all the time. It started to move me to tears because I thought, 'Look what I get to do.'"
She added during that interview: "The fashion and the wigs has truly brought joy to my life in a way an expression like I never could do before."

The Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2027 presentation was one of several major runway events held on Sept. 10 during New York Fashion Week 2026. The American designer brand, established by Tommy Hilfiger in 1985, featured high-profile models on the runway.
Model Gigi Hadid walked the catwalk during the Tommy Hilfiger fashion show on Sept. 10. Model Romeo Beckham, son of former footballer David Beckham and designer Victoria Beckham, also walked in the Hilfiger show on Sept. 10.
On the same day, designer Diane von Fürstenberg, famous for creating the wrap dress, attended the Diane von Furstenberg fashion show on Sept. 10 alongside Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

Star attendance was equally prominent on Sept. 9 at multiple launch events, presentations, and dinners across the city. Actor Katie Holmes, seven-time Grand Slam singles champion Venus Williams, and actor Chloë Sevigny attended the opening night of Target by Design on Sept. 9.
Television personality Carole Radziwill and actor Hari Nef attended the launch of the New York Icons campaign for accessory brand MZ Wallace on Sept. 9. Meanwhile, Rinna's daughters, Delilah Belle Hamlin and Amelia Gray Hamlin, attended ALO's New York Fashion Week celebration on Sept. 9 alongside model Winnie Harlow.
