Spanish fashion label Mango has released a sleeveless asymmetric plaid dress priced at 29.99 euros, designed for late summer and transitional autumn wear.
Fashion writer Patricia Rodriguez Rodao highlighted the garment on 19 August 2026 as a versatile piece capable of adapting to dropping temperatures in September.

The dress is crafted from textured Vichy gingham fabric in neutral tones and features an A-line silhouette that opens slightly toward the hem. It includes a boat neckline and a sleeveless cut suitable for warm weather.
A key design element is the lateral side draping at the waist, which gathers the fabric to accentuate the figure without feeling overly tight.

Below the waist, the skirt widens into an asymmetric hem that is shorter on one side, departing from traditional midi dress cuts. The neutral colour palette allows for simple pairing with various footwear choices during the final weeks of summer.

Styling options from summer to autumn
For late summer outfits, the dress can be worn with black or brown sandals, ballet flats, or low-heeled slingback shoes depending on the occasion.
As the weather cools, adding an upper layer allows the piece to function as a skirt. Layering a sweater over the top conceals the upper body of the dress, leaving only the asymmetric plaid skirt visible to create the look of two separate garments.

Boots can be added to complete the sweater ensemble during colder days. Alternatively, pairing the dress with a suede jacket in brown or camel tones provides an effortless autumnal appearance.
A blazer or trench coat can also be layered over the outfit to maintain versatility throughout the advancing season.
Background on Mango and Vichy plaid
Mango is an international clothing retail company founded in Barcelona, Spain. The brand specializes in women's, men's, and children's fashion, producing seasonal collections designed in Catalonia for global markets.
Vichy plaid, also known as gingham, is a woven check pattern traditionally made of cotton or linen blends. The pattern remains a recurring trend in European ready-to-wear fashion for both summer and mid-season wardrobe collections.
