Nine years before the main events, protagonist Mateo interceded in a fight and ended up convicted of homicide. Now an ex-convict who takes nothing for granted, Mateo is preparing for a new life with his pregnant wife, Olivia.
The couple is on the verge of acquiring their dream home when an inexplicable phone call from Olivia's mobile phone upends Mateo's life for a second time. The call drags him into a world of intrigue, violence, mystery, and betrayal.
