The upcoming biographical film Maserati starring Anthony Hopkins has seen its theatrical premiere in Russia delayed by one month to December 3, 2026.
Initial screenings in Russian cinemas had been planned for November 4, 2026, before distributors rescheduled the debut.
The feature film centers on brothers Alfieri Maserati and Bindo Maserati, who founded the Italian luxury car manufacturer Maserati in 1914. The narrative highlights their challenging path to victory at the historic Indianapolis 500 motor race in 1940.
Star cast and director
Robert Moresco directed the project, having previously helmed the 2022 automotive biopic Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend. Moresco is an American filmmaker who won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for co-writing the 2004 drama feature Crash.
Welsh actor Sir Anthony Hopkins, who recently starred in the historical drama One Life, leads an ensemble cast alongside Oscar winner Al Pacino, Jessica Alba, Michele Morrone, and Salvatore Esposito.
Alba is known for her role in Sin City, while Morrone appeared in The Housemaid and Esposito featured in the crime series Fargo. Pacino brings additional Hollywood pedigree to the automotive biopic.
