Japanese adult film star Michi Kitamura has disclosed that she joined the adult entertainment industry following a failed marriage to a husband who refused sex.
The Tokyo Reporter news outlet reported that Kitamura decided to seek a divorce after her former partner refused to have children, ending an eight-year relationship that included four consecutive years without physical intimacy.
Kitamura acknowledged that she had initially remained optimistic during her marriage, believing that their personal issues would resolve over time. She stated that she had essentially deceived herself for years in an effort to preserve the union.
Prior to her career change, Kitamura worked in specialized footwear manufacturing making orthopedic shoes. She later transitioned into corporate technology management, where she oversaw the development of commercial websites.
Career transition to adult entertainment
Following her divorce, Kitamura sought a complete career shift and began working as a webcam model. Live webcam modeling involves content creators broadcasting video streams online to fee-paying audiences. Her earnings in webcam modeling reached up to one million yen, equivalent to approximately 530,000 Russian rubles, over a two-week period.
Kitamura subsequently signed an exclusive performer contract with an adult video production studio. Exclusive contracts are standard in Japan's adult video industry, binding performers to specific studios for regular video releases.
