Spanish rock singer Miguel Ríos has canceled a concert scheduled for September 12, 2026, in Alcalá de Henares, near Madrid, after suffering health complications from a Covid-19 infection.

The cancellation was announced through a statement posted on Ríos's Instagram account under the headline "Official statement: cancellation of Miguel Ríos concert." The show had been due to take place at the Huerta del Obispo venue in Alcalá de Henares as part of the Los Conciertos de la Muralla series, organized by the production company Emotional Concerts AIE. The statement said the concert was called off for health reasons affecting the artist.
Recovering from a lung infection
According to the statement, Ríos had recently recovered from Covid-19 but was still recuperating from a subsequent lung infection. It said he had been strictly advised by doctors to rest over the following days to ensure a full recovery. The organizers said they deeply regretted the inconvenience caused by the change and thanked fans for their understanding and support.
Ticket refunds
The statement also laid out how ticket holders could get their money back. Anyone who bought tickets online would receive an automatic refund to the same payment method used for the purchase, with no action required on the buyer's part, within a maximum of 15 business days from the date of the announcement. Those who bought tickets at an official physical point of sale were told to return to the same location from September 15 onward, with their original tickets, to request a refund.

Miguel Ríos's message to fans
The statement included a personal message from Ríos to his audience. He said he was sorry to have to suspend Saturday's concert, adding that those who know him are aware he takes good care of himself, so catching Covid and being left somewhat knocked out was simply bad luck. He said he was following all of his doctors' instructions and hoped to be back on the road again soon. He thanked fans for their patience and the affection they always show him, and said he would be back soon.
