Former Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh has revealed she is building a new life with her daughters through kitchen discos following her split from husband Hugo Taylor. The 37-year-old television personality moved into a new rental property earlier this month after ending her marriage.

Mackintosh stepped out in a plunging white gown featuring a daring high split and paired with gold sandals as she attended an event at Spotify's London headquarters. She explained that her daughters, six-year-old Sienna and four-year-old Aurelia, have been helping her navigate the separation by having dance parties in their new kitchen.

"Dancing round the kitchen to our favourite music is honestly one of my favourite parts of the day with Sienna and Aurelia," Mackintosh said while discussing her home routine.

The mother of two explained that the family routine led to her involvement with Spotify UK for the launch of its managed accounts feature. "Which is why I'm so excited about Spotify UK launching managed accounts, free for everyone," she said. "It gives kids under 13 their very own music space to explore and enjoy, while I stay in control of what they can discover and listen to."

To celebrate the product launch, Mackintosh took her daughters to the streaming company's London offices, where the girls took part in face painting activities.

Mackintosh first gained public recognition in 2011 on E4's BAFTA-winning reality series Made in Chelsea, which documents the lives of affluent young people in West London. Taylor was also an early cast member on the program.

Spotify, which hosted the launch, is a major audio streaming platform headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. Merrygold rose to fame on the talent competition show The X Factor in 2008 before achieving success with JLS.

Moving process and emotional impact

The public outing follows emotional social media updates Mackintosh shared about moving out of her marital residence. In a video uploaded to Instagram, she filmed herself unboxing belongings, assembling flat-pack furniture, and crying while sitting on the wooden floor of her new house.

Mackintosh described herself as "finding a bit of strength in the chaos" while embarking on a new chapter. She explained that she recorded the footage several weeks prior while preparing the property before moving in with her children.

"Box after box, room after room, there’s something oddly satisfying about putting together flat pack furniture with your own two hands," Mackintosh wrote. "Especially when you don’t even own a screwdriver."

She added: "New chapter, new walls, and somehow finding a bit of strength in the chaos of it all. Since moving in, lots of you have asked me how I found the house I’m renting. Honestly… I had so much help."

Mackintosh revealed that her friend Lucie Hirst assisted throughout the process by sourcing off-market properties, attending viewings, dealing with estate agents, and completing administrative tasks, which made the move less complicated.

Divorce proceedings and past property

Relocating from the marital home last month provided a sense of healing despite the emotional difficulty, according to Mackintosh. She acknowledged that divorce was not the ending she had envisioned, but stated that the new residence showed new beginnings can be beautiful despite uncertainty and cardboard boxes.

"This is what starting again actually looks like," Mackintosh posted. "Not glamorous, not perfectly styled, just honest, and mine. I've learned more about myself in this in-between than I have in years."

She reflected further on the transition: "Every room a little emptier today, and me a little lighter for it. Funny how a house holds so much of you without you ever realising, until you have to carry it all out the door. Slowly, slowly it starts to look like somewhere new. One chair at a time, one plant at a time, building a home that's entirely mine feels like its own kind of healing."

Mackintosh confessed she had delayed posting the statement because summing up the experience was difficult. "This move has been so many things at once, exciting, overwhelming, sad, hopeful, all wrapped into one very long day surrounded by boxes," she wrote. "Starting again somewhere new has taught me more about who I am than I expected. Turns out you can grieve a chapter and be genuinely excited for the next one at the same time."

Mackintosh and Taylor have officially filed for divorce and appointed legal representatives. Sources indicate both parties are seeking a clean break while continuing to co-parent their two daughters.

Before splitting, the couple had spent months carrying out a full renovation of their £5 million family home. In April 2025, Mackintosh posted an update marking one year since work began, writing that the renovation required extensive time, energy, and late nights.

"It's wild to think it's been a whole year since we started our renovation… sometimes you get so caught up in the day-to-day that you forget to stop and appreciate just how far you've come," Mackintosh said at the time. "When I look back to the early days, the plans, the moodboards, the dust (so much dust!), the endless decisions and all the highs and lows that come with a project like this, it honestly feels like a lifetime ago."

She continued: "It took time, energy, late nights and a lot of patience… but seeing it now, I'm so proud of everything we put into it. The best part? We're finally at the stage where it's about the little things. Filling the space with art, books and those pieces you pick up over time that make a house feel like home. There's still plenty I want to do, but it feels really special to pause, look back and soak it all in."

Mackintosh had previously shared images of her former kitchen after transforming it into a cosy snug. Following the marital separation, she has turned her focus to settling into her new rental home.
