A Moscow resident identified only as Arsen, whose name was changed, went to the dentist with severe tooth pain, but ended up in intensive care with a heart attack after a month and a half of treatment, according to Telegram channel Mash.
Arsen said the pain began in his jaw and then spread to his throat and chest. A CT scan showed his lower right seventh tooth did need treatment, but doctors said it could not have caused the level of pain he described.
Doctors urged a cardiologist visit
Arsen was treated and re-examined along with a maxillofacial surgeon, who advised him to see a cardiologist. He did not believe he had a heart problem and instead went to a different clinic, where staff told him doctors had treated the wrong tooth and scheduled him for further dental work.
Wife pushed for cardiac check
Arsen's wife contacted the first clinic, which again recommended a heart checkup. She insisted he go, and the cardiologist grew suspicious and called an ambulance straight from the office. Doctors diagnosed a heart attack, sent him to intensive care and fitted a stent. He is now out of danger.
