The ambassador defended the strengthening of bilateral relations in the field of science

The Italian ambassador in Brazil, Francesco Azzarello, underlined the importance of scientific cooperation between the two countries, at the opening of the National Forum of the Council of State Secretaries for Scientific Affairs.

The event was attended by the president of the National Research Council (CNR), Maria Chiara Carrozza, and the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of Brazil, Luciana Santos.

“Italy and Brazil have a particularly close relationship at the federal and state level in the fields of science, technology and innovation, which needs to be strengthened and deepened,” said Azzarello.

According to the diplomat, the presence of the president of the CNR is a “concrete sign at the highest scientific level of Italy’s consideration for Brazil” and, at the same time, a reason for “hope in strengthening bilateral ties so that cooperation and exchange can also become doing in a technological and industrial sense”.

The forum was organized in the “first embassy in the world that received the Zero Waste certificate in 2021, then confirmed in 2022,” noted Azzarello. .
