There’s another behind-the-scenes script change for an upcoming Marvel film. Add to recent news that Lee Sung Jin is working on a new project by Goodness of God the fact that Josh Friedman, who was on James Cameron’s writing staff at the Avatars sequel, will rewrite the Fantastic Four script.
VandaVision Director Matt Shakman is currently on board to make the film, which won’t tell the superhero’s origin story, but will feature major versions of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm in the MCU (after the cameo). John Krasinski as Richards Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness).
Comedy writers Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer had developed the script with Shakman, but Friedman brings a sci-fi background to the project. In addition to his work with Cameron, he also wrote Steven Spielberg’s version of war of words and has worked on television series including Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, snow drill AND Basic.
Fantastic Four has a release date in the books of February 14, 2025 and will kick off Phase 6 of the MCU.
