Djokovic regains first place


The Serbian beat Alcaraz this Sunday evening

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic returned to the top of the standings in a new ranking published this Sunday evening by the ATP, the Association of Professional Tennis Players.




Nole did not defend any points and kept his 7,160 points while the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz discarded the 1,000 points of the title last year in Miami, but added 360 from the semi-final of this edition, dropping to 6,780. The Spaniard remained at the top for only two weeks in his second spell up.

This is the eighth time the Serbian has topped the league table. He adds his 381st week in the lead where he is the record holder.

Third place goes to the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas who is now followed by the Russian Daniil Medvedev who has reached 5150 points (1000 scored, 180 defended in the quarterfinals). Norway’s Casper Ruud dropped to fifth and is now followed by Russia’s Andrey Rublev. Canadian Felix Aliassime dropped one place to seventh; the eighth is the Danish Holger Rune who was stable. Vice in Miami, Jannik Sinner moved up two positions and is ninth. American Taylor Fritz is tenth. Semi-finalist, Russian Karen Khachanov moved up five places to eleventh.

Rafael Nadal lost another position and was in 14th place.
