What is it about?
Hannah is a woman who must bond with her 16-year-old stepmother, Bailey, in order to discover the truth behind her husband’s mysterious disappearance.
Jennifer Garner in a high-voltage thriller
The 2021 adaptation of Laura Davey’s best-selling novel of the same name, The Last Thing He Told Me marks the return to television of Jennifer Garner in the lead role, even if she almost missed it after she replaced Julia Roberts, previously chosen.
In this seven-part thriller, the former Alias star plays Hannah, a woman whose life changes when her husband Owen (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) vanishes into thin air. If he hopes to find her, he must ally with Bailey (Anguria Rice), his stepmother, with whom his relationship is still strained.
Embarking on a thrilling and dangerous investigation, the two women gradually discover Owen’s dark secrets, but also find themselves on the hunt. Because before leaving, Owen left a bag full of money for Hannah and Bailey. Where does this money come from? Why did he leave them? Where is Owen and why did he disappear?
So many questions that Hannah and Bailey will try to answer. This traumatic experience is sure to bring them closer together as the curtain lifts the mystery of Owen’s disappearance.

The Last Thing He Told Me is produced by Hello Sunshine, Reese Witherspoon’s production company, to which we owe the series Truth Be Told, Little Fires Everywhere and Daisy Jones & The Six, as well as the film Where the Crabs Sing. Like the stirring performances, The Last Thing He Told Me takes pride of place in its portrayals of women who face irreversible dramatic upheaval, only to emerge stronger.
Add to the series created by Josh Singer (Spotlight), thriller, suspense, fascinating investigation and you get a classic but effective thriller. The first two episodes of The Last Thing He Told Me are available from April 14 on Apple TV+. The following episodes will be available on the platform for the price of one episode per week.
