Motorola Edge 40 Pro shares position with Xiaomi 13 and outperforms iPhone 12 Pro 2020 in rigorous DXOMARK camera test
Presented in early April by MotorolaThe powerful Edge 40 Pro debuted as the top of the range from the manufacturer by focusing on high numbers: 165Hz frequency screen, 125W charging battery and cameras up to 60MP. Now the device passes the rigorous DXOMARK photography and video recording tests proving that Motorola has done a good job, not enough to find it among the leaders of the list, but delivering good performance.
- Motorola Edge 40 Pro launches with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 165Hz display
- Motorola Edge 40 comes with big differentials and aggressive price
The Motorola Edge 40 Pro bets on a set of three rear cameras to satisfy those looking for more versatile photos and videos thanks to lenses with different fields of view.
The 50MP main sensor is sized with a 1/1.5-inch f/1.88 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS), while another 1/2.8-inch 50MP sensor is dedicated to the ultrawide lens with f. /2.2. Finally, a 12MP 1/2.93″ sensor powers the telephoto lens with an f/1.6 aperture.

With 130 points in the DXOMARK global ranking, the model has a balanced performance with very good exposure (109 points out of 117 points from the current record holder) and excellent colors (111 points out of 119) in photos, with good colors (109 points out of 117 ) and good noise levels (112 out of 118 points) in video, but it still falls short of expectations for its price range in terms of textures, telephoto quality and portrait mode.
Therefore, the device shares the 32nd position with the My 13 and the Oppo Find X5 Prosurpassing even models such as the iPhone 12Pro in 40th position and the iPhone 13 in 47th place.
